3WW CCXI

Each week, I post three words. You write something using the words.
Then come back and post a link to the contribution with Mr. Linky.
As always, there's no hard-and-fast rule that you have to post on Wednesday.
But I invite everyone to check back often to read and comment on other contributions. This is, after all, a community for writers who clamor for feedback.

With that said, a woman who has been a 3WW from the beginning (before my time, even), suggested a novel concept: Alter the time the words get posted each week to give everyone a fair shot at posting first. It's all an attempt to drive more comments to each contribution. That change starts with 3WW CCXII

Go write. Go read. Go comment.

This week's words:

effect, immense, shimmer

Wow.. can't believe I'm first. Anyway, the adventure of Julianne continues :-)

Happy Wednesday, everyone.

I don't believe in first linked gets more comments or such.. and even if you change the timing of the linky.. announce words and put the linky later, so as to give equal opportunity for all to be first "linker", still it'd favor people from one time zone, won't it? If the linky comes out at noon in the US, it'd be late night in the Far East...

That being said, I commend the words for this week. Very inspiring to write using them. Thanks Thom!

I think that's a fabulous idea.

And, today's words are fab. Let's see what we can do...

I went for some purple poetry today, for a very good reason.

I am grateful for different timing in the linking. Being on the West Coast, I have never linked first or even close to first. Normally, it doesn't matter... and it would be cool just once to be the one who kicks it all off....

I'm actually pretty proud of myself. I'm on to part five of my "Taking Liberty" story. It's starting to really work itself into something.

My life is crazed, but I'll always find time for Three Word Wednesday.

I think Thom's been doing a great job--I couldn't make such a drastic move and still keep this up
Changing the time zones weekly or monthly will give people more of an opportunity to know each other, and to be in the top ten or 20--not always fun to be 50th. When I am I don't link as I know very few people will even look at the submissions

First time here at 3WW. It was fun trying to work a story with 3 word prompts but seriously wonder whether I really should have posted my fledgling attempt after reading the other posts!
ah well...enjoy your wednesday everyone.

Honestly, I never notice who links first. As a constantly late poster I tend to visit those who are just before me or after me first and then always come back on subsequent days to check out some others. :)

Alas, for once I'm actually posting on a Wednesday. Really liked these words.

As always, I'm forty-somethingth... I support the changing times idea, because I'm in the UK and I post daily to a schedule. I usually have to have my Wednesday story written by 9am local time- the words are never up in time so I use them for Thursdays. It still brings in a fair number of comments though.

I'll stop now, I'm rambling. Great words this week!

I couldn't quite make this week's words work for a sequel to last week's story, so I'll try to do a sequel for #FridayFlash this Friday/Saturday (since I'm running a day late this week).

This was fun, though!

I'm a day late but couldn't resist trying your prompt nonetheless. :-)

I finally posted my first story here! Of course I'm a little late, but still hope people will read. I am still learning a lot about writing, but one thing I know the more I write the better I become. So here goes...
I hope you enjoy!

Late? I'm usually putting mine up in the small hours before the next prompt gets posted! Regretably, Exams have tied me up for the next few weeks, so I'll have to depart until mid November. ...Not that that concerns anybody, but I felt obliged to excuse myself.
