3WW CCLXXXI

Each week, I post three words. You write something using the words.

Then come back and post a link to the contribution with Mr. Linky (but please, link to the exact post, not your blog, by clicking on the exact post title and paste it to Mr. Linky below). As always, there's no hard-and-fast rule that you have to post on Wednesday.

But I invite everyone to check back often to read and  comment on other contributions. This is, after all, a community for writers who clamor for feedback.

This week's words:

Feel; verb: Be aware of (a person or object) through touching or being touched; be aware of (something happening) through physical sensation; examine or search by touch; experience (an emotion or sensation); noun: An act of touching something to examine it; a sensation given by an object or material when touched.

Shade; noun: Comparative darkness and coolness caused by shelter from direct sunlight; a color, esp. with regard to how light or dark it is or as distinguished from one nearly like it; verb: Screen from direct light; make a slight reduction in the amount, rate, or price of.

Tangle; verb: Twist together into a confused mass; become involved in a conflict or fight with; noun: A confused mass of something twisted together; a confused or complicated state; a muddle; a fight, argument, or disagreement.

My limerick this week is a riff on "50 Shades of Grey". How could it not be, given these three words?

I usually go right to the emotion-wrought love/breakup/sadness poetry, but I broke out of my mold for this one, and it felt good to stretch into uncharted territory.

Like Tania A above, I'd normally write something to do with love/ breakup, but I've broken my mould. Another glimpse into my mind. ;)

Wow, the gang's all here. I, too, was away, a bit seeing family but also a bit blocked. Thanks for this prompt, which turned out to be a "threefer" along with Sun Scribs and Real Toads!

Thanks so much for this site. It really makes the middle of the week shine a bit brighter. Amy

I'm thinking what I posted today was a false start or maybe the beginning of something. But, the point is to start writing SOMETHING, no?

Better late than never!
